I am Gail Gornick, Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) and I can help:
Through my experience working with teens and women, I have found that many feel alone and do not have someone they can openly confide in without fear of being judged. In times of crisis we need someone who will really listen and help us find our own answers. This is why I am here. In addition to women and teens, I work with children of Holocaust survivors, couples and families helping them develop new skills to deal with problems and live the lives they envision. I am sensitive to multicultural backgrounds and I conduct therapy in English, Spanish and Italian.
A teen can be surrounded by hundreds of peers but still feel completely alone, not knowing who to trust. As an educator and therapist, I have worked in public, non-publc schools and as trainer to teens on a crisis hotline. I have learned the importance for teens of having a safe place where they can talk about the pressures they are facing.
I have worked to help women find the inner strength to confront issues, such as domestic violence, divorce, single parenting, sandwich generation, and aging. I offer small support groups for teens and women.
