I am Terrence Alspaugh, LCPC and I can help:
As a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist, my treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. With sensitivity and compassion, I help clients find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues.
Blending conventional and alternative approaches, I draw on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. I help people build on their strengths in order to identify and achieve life goals.
I have over 20 years of experience in counseling children, youth, families, and couples. My training at Johns Hopkins University in clinical community counseling and play therapy equipped me to meet the needs of clients with a broad spectrum of challenges and concerns. I have counseled individuals, families, couples, and groups in community mental health, substance abuse treatment, schools, and congregations. Among my areas of expertise are: ADHD, child/parent conflicts, family therapy, couples counseling, anger management, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, social skills training, substance abuse, and parenting education.
I use an integrated, solution-focused therapeutic approach, drawing upon evidence-based techniques and interventions, as well as Jungian psychological theory, to create a treatment plan tailored to the unique needs of the client.
