I am Courtney Stewart, MA, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and I can help:
At certain times in our lives we encounter situations that make it difficult for us to cope on our own; as a Mental Health Counselor my goal is to help you navigate through these difficult times and help you identify your strengths that will help you in the future when difficult times reappear. After the loss of my mom in 2005, I decided to specialize in grief and loss, as my own journey through grief has given me the knowledge to walk beside my clients as they travel their own journey through grief. I believe that loss gives us the ability to grow and learn more about who we are, and as we begin to heal and integrate the loss into our lives we emerge as a new person.
Although my focus is on grief counseling, I also provide counseling services for anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, addictions, adolescent issues, marital and couple struggles, and struggles for those who are caregivers. Each client is treated individually, and the treatment goals and structure of treatment moves at a pace you are comfortable with. It is very important to me that you feel safe and comfortable expressing your struggles and fears while in counseling, and that you come out of counseling with a new perspective on your situation and new skills to use in the future.
